Research

I am a multi-disciplinary climatologist whose research aims to understand climate variability, including both precipitation extremes and drought. Much of my research focuses on the mechanisms underlying climate-wildfire linkages, with a particular interest in the analysis of the impacts of anthropogenic climate change on fire weather conditions. My ultimate goal is to advance scientific knowledge in ways that are relevant to policy makers and also interesting to the public and other scientists.

Bio

After completing my PhD in climatology at the University of Aix-Marseille in France, I embarked for a post-doc at the University of Idaho, US where I have been examining megafires and how they might change with global warming. I then accepted a research associate position at Newcastle University, UK where I examined subdaily precipitation extremes in the framework of the INTENSE project.
