Research activities

I am a researcher in Fluid Dynamics, and I enjoy running experiments to visualize and understand the processes which occurs when a solid phase disturb the flow, like in particulate suspensions (cement, blood, painting, oil industry, milk, medication) or porous media (rocks, soil, bones).
My main research interests are related to flow kinematics (how velocities are distributed), dispersion (how a dye explore the surrounding media), mixing (how concentration level homogenize), clogging (how particles can form an arch at a constriction, stopping the particle flow rate) and erosion (how fine particles can be detached by the flow and transported downstream). I focus on an experimental approach developing and using direct visualisations techniques.
