CaRessPrunus (2017 - 2020)

Characterization of the Prunus genetic resources for the biotic and abiotic stresses

The project CaRessPrunus aims at characterizing the genetic resources available, in a targeted multi-character approach focused on phenology (dormancy, flowering, maturity, senescence) and sensitivity to pests (excluding quarantine diseases worked elsewhere).

It is structured into four complementary actions:

  • identify, with stakeholders from the sector, issues related to the targeted characters (nature and identification of indicators, prioritization, characterization methodology) - (Action 1)
  • characterize the traits related to abiotic stresses (Action 2), first including a characterization of traits identified as important following the action 1 and a more detailed analysis of dormancy already initiated on a subset of the studied material in this project,
  • characterize the traits related to biotic stressses (Action 3), with two complementary approaches: an approach based on the traits identified in Action 1, and a more integrative approach to evaluate the behavior of core-collections under low phytosanitary inputs for which experimental devices will be set up under the project,
  • take advantage of available molecular data to identify genetic and molecular determinants associated traits (Action 4).
