THE GAFL RESEARCH UNIT AT THE PARIS INTERNATIONAL AGRICULTURE SHOW FROM 24 FEBRUARY TO 04 MARCH 2018

A collection of genetic resources of vegetables, why?

The GAFL research unit has constituted throughout the years an important conservatory of seeds. Today, the Genetic Resources Center for Vegetable Species manages collections of genetic resources of five vegetable seed species: eggplant, lettuce, melon, pepper and tomato. These collections of genotypes, wild and cultivated, constitute a wealth used by both research and civil society.

On the stand:

Employees of the GAFL research unit will present you the diversity of the Mediterranean fruits and vegetables with the observation of the different varieties of eggplants. You will discover the richness of the Genetic Resources Center for Vegetable Species, the various associated trades and the different uses of these resources for research and innovation, such as the creation of new varieties, with great flavors or resistances to the diseases and drought.
