CASSANDRA (2018 - 2021)

CASsava Sustainable Advancement & Nurturing by discovery of Disease Resistance Alleles

The Cassandra project (CASSAVA SUSTAINABLE ADVANCEMENT & NURTURING BY DISCOVERY OF DISEASE RESISTANCE ALLELES) aims at developing healthy cassava cultures in Africa. Cassava is targeted by several viruses that affect its cultures and our aim is to use cassava natural variability as well as the sanitation of cuttings to provide resistance in the fields. This project is carried out with the Gembloux Institute (Belgium), the University of Nairobi (Kenya) and the University of Witwatersrand (South Africa).

CASSANDRA is funded by the ERA-NET LEAP AGRI program (https://www.leap-agri.com/)
